Hope Springs was Shed Productions’ second offering to the BBC, following the hugely successful Waterloo Road.
The series followed four ex-cons, Hannah, Ellie, Shoo and Josie, who go into hiding after a multi-million robbery. After a series of gaffs in their plan, the women end up in the Scottish town of Hope Springs to lay low – but they soon find themselves involved in the lives and stories of the local residents. Will the girls ever get away from Hope Springs and end up in Barbados like they planned?
Production of the series began in the summer of 2008. The series was filled in the village of Wanlockhead. The interior scenes, meanwhile, were shot at the BBC Scotland drama studios in Dumbarton.
